Director Sean Baker’s 2017 feature The Florida Project examines the world just outside the gates of “the most magical place on Earth” from the perspective of a 6-year-old child. Baker and cinematographer Alexis Zabé, ASC, AMC followed their intuition to craft the movie’s look, landing on an approach that included 35mm film for interiors and day exteriors and digital acquisition for night exteriors. Here, Zabé reflects on the collaboration.
