DI Color Assist

Support Colorist, Sr. Colorist and Supervising Colorist team with session set-up, Room & Equipment configuration, pre-grading, rendering, fill in/brush in work, VFX review and downstream color sessions. Work across multiple feature or episodic titles to help balance the load of color projects within the facility and provide support to the Color team. This role will work with Production, Editorial Conform, Operations and Engineering to support a custom workflow tailored to the needs of our Clients


Key Responsibilities:

  • Color grading projects under the supervision of the Colorists, Senior Colorists & Supervising Colorists

    ●  Preparing the room and equipment prior to every session

    ● Pre-grading shots as requested

    ● Updating color timelines to match most recent conforms; including organizing current versions, checking for new shots, tracking windows and rendering

    ● Making sure notes are relayed appropriately to and from producers and ensure work orders and schedule are up to date and all completed work has been reconciled
    ● Review and ensure that all elements meet visual integrity and technical specifications
    ● Pan and Scans, HD / Rec 709 and HDR color trim & render operations
    ● Reviewing master deliverables prior to delivery
    ● Work closely with our in-house producers and conform artists to meet deadlines and complete work orders
    accurately

 

Skills/Experience Required:

  • A complete understanding of file based workflows, color space, codecs and aspect ratios
  • Must be a team player who can work with the staff and clients for the benefit of the facility
  • Clear communication skills
  • Knowledge of Black Magic Resolve & Filmlight Baselight
  • At least 3 years experience in a post-production environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Work well under pressure and responds positively to deadlines
  • Flexible schedule with needed overtime and weekend hours

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This position will have shifting start times and may require long hours and some weekend work.

Travel:

Some out-of-state/country and overnight travel may be expected.
