The Lens Repair Technician is responsible for assembling and performing Quality Control for very high precision lenses to obtain the highest achievable MTF and image quality. Ideal candidate will, in addition to skills noted below, be able to suggest improvement to existing methods for mechanical and optical designs.  This includes working with design engineers at all phases of the product realization process.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Quality control of optical components and lens systems
  • Optical adjustment, zoom optimization, calibration and final assembly of both fixed focal length and zoom lens assemblies 
  • Maintenance of optical test equipment


Skills/Experience Required:


  • Three+ years experience maintaining or assembling PANAVISION Optical taking Lenses (preferred)
  • Previous experience maintaining or assembling taking zoom lenses (required)
  • Experience with or knowledge of optical test equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend complicated mechanical and optical design documentation
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver quality product in a timely manner
  • Able to work well without direct supervision
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Fundamental machining skills not required but highly preferred


Work Environment and Physical Demands:


This job operates in a warehouse environment.   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms.   The employee may also be required to lift product or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


Prompt and regular attendance is required, employees are expected to begin work at the start of their scheduled shift and to complete their assigned work shift according to the responsibilities of their position.


This position works standard business hours, but may require long hours and some weekend work.




Some out-of-state/country and overnight travel may be expected.
