About Ethan

Ethan Schwartz
Ethan Schwartz began making movies at an early age in his hometown of Philadelphia. At Temple University, he studied cinematography while also honing his post-production skills by supporting the school’s editing bays, projection booths, and broadcast facilities. When he joined Light Iron in 2013, Ethan specialized in managing mobile dailies workflows and color pipelines. Transitioning to the finishing side of post production, Ethan trained under Supervising Colorists Ian Vertovec and Corinne Bogdanowicz, working as a color assistant for features and episodic projects before moving up to supervising his own projects. Ethan enjoys working with emerging filmmakers to explore how creative color and texture effects can elevate their projects.
"Ethan went the extra mile. It wasn’t a simple movie. Even though there are so many repeated scenes, they’re from different perspectives every time, so it wasn’t like you could just apply a look."

Quyen Tran, ASC
Cinematographer, Palm Springs

"Ethan and I have worked together on multiple occasions, so we have a shorthand that works seamlessly. He did an amazing job on the season. Having Panavision and Light Iron behind us quickly alleviated any worries regarding our tight schedule."

Markus Mentzer
Cinematographer, I Think You Should Leave Season 2

"Ethan Schwartz and I have collaborated on a few projects to date, and I find his taste and his eye match very well with my own. He’s also able to intuit my notes and scattered thoughts into exactly what each project needs."

Cinematographer, Adam the First
